The Method · 4Ts
Think through things. Thoroughly.
Every RepoLogic engagement runs on one operating principle, held long before the firm had a website: nothing gets built until it has been thought through — end to end, edge cases included, next year's entities included. It sounds obvious. Almost nobody does it. It is why our work reconciles and lasts.
Why it matters
Reporting doesn't fail at the report. It fails at the backbone.
Every consolidation that won't reconcile, every dashboard nobody trusts, every close that runs on heroics traces back to the same place: master data that was never properly designed. Hierarchies assembled by accretion. Account structures that mean different things in different entities. Mappings nobody owns.
Twenty years across every generation of consolidation platform — SEM-BCS to S/4HANA, Anaplan to Xero — taught us that the technology is rarely the problem. The quiet architecture underneath it decides everything: whether reports reconcile or fight you, whether the next entity slots in or breaks things, whether the system outlives the person who built it.
So that is where every engagement starts. Not with the output. With the backbone.
Hierarchies and master data are not configuration. They are the constitution of your reporting — every number that reaches the board is governed by decisions made there.
The method in practice
Four disciplines, applied in order
M-01 · Backbone
Master data & hierarchy design
FS item and account hierarchies, entity structures, dimensions and mappings — designed deliberately, documented, and owned. This is the discipline that makes everything downstream reconcile by construction rather than by correction.
M-02 · Process
Reporting process design
How the close actually runs: sequence, ownership, gates and calendar. We design the process the way the business needs to conduct its reporting — then the system enforces it, so quality stops depending on who is at their desk.
M-03 · Rigour
Validation at every gate
Checks built into the platform, not bolted on afterwards: balances proven, movements explained, exceptions surfaced the moment they occur. Errors are caught by the system, never discovered by the board.
M-04 · Horizon
Future-proofing & scale
Every build assumes the entity you will acquire, the currency you will add, the question you have not asked yet. Structures extend without surgery; insight capability is designed in from day one, not retrofitted under pressure.
How we're built
Principal-led. Always.
Every engagement is scoped, architected and quality-gated by the principal — the same person, with the same standard, on every client. Nothing ships that has not passed that review.
Delivery capacity comes from a small, senior associate bench — experienced specialists with backgrounds at global technology and consulting firms — working under RepoLogic's direction, standards and confidentiality terms. Senior hands extending the principal's reach: never juniors learning on your time, never work you haven't been told about.
One architect. The principal designs and signs off every engagement, without exception.
Senior hands only. Associates are established specialists, not trainees.
Full transparency. How your engagement is staffed is stated up front, in the engagement letter.
Your confidentiality flows down. Every associate is bound by the same terms we sign with you.
Next step
Bring us the thing that won't reconcile
Chances are it isn't the report — it's the backbone. A short conversation will usually locate the real problem, and we'll tell you honestly if it's not one we should be paid to fix.
